Issue 58: My Personal NYC Performance Round-Up, The Spring Edition
Plus, your professional advice on the brass tacks of theater going.
We are officially one week away from my girls being on spring break and about 10 days away from us leaving for a much needed sunny vacation. To say I am counting down the hours would be an understatement.
This winter has felt incredibly long and grinding in the city. I cannot wait for a change of pace and some adventure and sunshine. We’ve had a few nice days in New York City recently (paired with some very rainy cold days) and even that tiny hint of spring has me excited for what is to come. I am looking forward to a spring filled with tons of theater and dance, my girls’ birthdays and the usual mad sprint to the end of the school year!
Coming Soon!
I’m also working on a much anticipated New York City guide, just for you!
My New York City is not a white table cloth, waiters in tuxes, throwback to the Manhattan of the ‘90s. Nor am I interested in brunching or overly precious dining experiences. At this point, I can safely say I have tried every facial in NYC. While I do most of my shopping online, I am your go-to, local NY girl for those one-of-a-kind, worth your time, brick and mortars to put on your list. This is My NYC Guide - ideal for residents and tourists alike - I’ll show you how to take to the streets by foot and do NYC like a local.
You’ll want to subscribe to be the first to get the guide in your inbox!
Here’s what’s in this issue:
My infamous NYC performance round-up for Spring
Professional advice on how & when to buy tickets plus where to sit
What to wear (even if you’re not a local).
After a long winter, spring in NYC is always so exciting. The fashion veers away from jeans and puffy coats (or is that just me) and the whole city starts to come alive again! My favorite part of spring in NYC is all of the theater and dance there is to see.
This season is a particularly exciting one on Broadway with 18 new productions opening between now and June (when the 2023/24 Broadway season culminates in the annual TONY Awards). On top of Broadway there are also a number of Off Broadway and dance performances I am really looking forward to.
Here are the performances I already have tickets to or am hoping to add to my calendar.
Please note, this is by no means a comprehensive list of everything opening this spring, instead it is my curated list of what I am excited for. My condensed fall performance guide can be found here. I hope something in the list below that excites you too!
